Any advice welcome.

I upgraded Google Earth on Thursday 9/11/2006 and it seemed to work fine.
Yesterday and today, when I try to open it, it stops during the
initialisation process with this error message:

"Google Earth has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry
for any inconvenience."

It gives me technical details which states:

Diagnostic report file name:
C:\DOCUME~******~1\LOCAL~1|Temp|Google_Earth_3.0.0762_061111-0011429_1.dmp
Report file successfully sent: Yes
Diagnostic message sent: Yes

Don't understand what that is - but I can find the file it refers to.

I've tried reboot, and a system restore to no avail, so thought I'd
uninstall and reinstall Google Earth. Can't even uninstall it. When I try
I get a message:
<quote>
Setup has experienced an error:
- close any running programs
-Empty your temporary folder
-Check your internet connection (Internet-based Setups)
Then try setup again

Error cade: -6003
<unquote>
Tried all that and keep getting same error - Any ideas as to ewhat to do
next to get Google Earth working again?
TIA

That's actually the standard Message shown by *windoze*, when a
Program Crashes.

Ah!
I was going to ask what actual Version of Google Earth are you using.

That Version (3.0.0762) is actually an *old* Version!
It was released nearly a year ago!!!

There was (if I remember right) at least one more Version of Google
Earth V3 after that one & then (in about June this year), they
Released Google Earth V4 (the Current Version, was released on 1/11/06
& is V4.0.2416.0)

That is cos you have the Option in windoze (in the System Properties),
Set to "Enable Error Reporting" It Sends an Error Report to micro$oft,
when there's a Program Error, if that's Enabled.

You can turn off the actual Reporting bit, if you want.
& you can (Optionally) also turn off the Notification of the Error.

It won't mean much to most people - The Information in there is
designed for Programmers to understand!

Well, Google (or the people who wrote the Installation Program, which
is MacroVision/InstallShield) are the only people who really know what
the Error "6003" means.

Try Downloading the latest Version & Running *that* - it *should*
detect the Earlier Version & UnInstall it & it should then Install
the newer Version.
Try it & Post back with what happens, so we can then make suggestions,
depending on what you find happens.
